JAARS Trip 2017

During this last J-term, 14 of our very own SCS students and 4 teachers went on a 7-day trip to the JAARS facility in Waxhaw, North Carolina. JAARS stands for Jungle Aviation and Radio Service, an organization that has the express purpose of sharing the Gospel with unreached people groups. Bible translation is a mainstay of their work, as they translate the Bible into the native languages of people all over the world. Our team was able to co-labor with these missionaries while on-site, completing major work projects on the compound and learning about the great missions work that is taking place. I can’t tell you enough how much I see this specific trip fitting exactly our school’s mission and vision to educate the next generation of Christian Leaders. At the end of each of their work days, the students spent evenings hearing first-hand from those that spent a life-time on the Mission field. Our students received a much greater understanding of not only the early sacrifices pioneers had to make, but the current sacrifices Missionaries are making to spread the Gospel. Next Wednesday, our JAARS team will be sharing their experience in elementary chapel!
