Learning Specialist
SCS seeks a qualified ESL teacher/Learning Specialist to join our Academic Resource Center. Must have experience in teaching English learners. You will create lesson plans, assess student progress, and provide constructive feedback to help students improve their language skills. Additionally, the learning specialist will provide support services such as RTI/AIS services in one-on-one, small group, and classroom settings, and in implementing 504 accommodations. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in structuring guided reading groups, and working with Fountas/Pinnell resources. Applicants with a Master’s degree in TESL, TESOL, or Special Education with an ESL focus is preferred. Elementary STEM Teacher
SCS is seeking an Elementary STEM Teacher. Qualifications include: Bachelor's Degree in the STEM field, knowledge of STEM best practices, experience in teaching methods that demonstrate a desire to influence elementary-aged students. Excellent written and verbal communication as well as Proficiency with basic computer software such as Word and Excel. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience and/or a master’s degree. School Counselor
Smithtown Christian School is seeking a dedicated full-time School Counselor to support our students in achieving their MS/HS academic goals while setting them up for College and Career success. As the School Counselor, you will provide individualized guidance to students and families such as offering assistance with SCS course scheduling, college application processes, and career exploration. Collaborating closely with administrators, you will develop and implement programs to ensure that students are well-prepared for their future endeavors, whether pursuing higher education or entering the workforce directly. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of the operations of school life, transcript creation, FACTS Educational Management Software, Naviance College and Career readiness software, college admissions procedures, career pathways, and scholarship opportunities, alongside a strong commitment to helping students discover and pursue their passions.
