Our participants ran through their neighborhoods, on tracks, in parks and even on the Stonybrook University campus-all while wearing their SCS Run shirts and supporting our school. We had students, families, alumni, teachers and administrators join together and enjoy a beautiful fall day, while getting some exercise. The photos came flooding in throughout the day, along with their times to track our 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in both the 5K and the Fun Run. We used the honor system and most sent in screenshots of what they used to track their times. In the 1 Mile Fun Run, we had 1st place go to Brandon C., 2nd place awarded to Christian C. in fifth grade and 3rd place go to Raphael W. in first grade. In our 5K, we had in 1st place go to Joe Loiacono-a parent and SCS Board Member. In 2nd place was Nick Olynik, an alumni and 2012 graduate. 3rd place went to an SCS teacher, Mr. Chris White. Winners representing all parts of the SCS family-students, alumni, teachers and parents!
We were so grateful for the 50 runners who participated and cannot wait to expand it next year to include event sponsors, as well as runner sponsors!
